I spent Sunday night (5th Oct) at the Heavenly Records evening at Manchester Deaf Institute for Manchester In The City 2008.

Cherry Ghost were meant to be joined onstage by Jimi from Doves, but unfortunately he couldn’t make it. Cherry Ghost still played a great cover of Doves tune ‘Pounding’ though – I’ll have video footage up soon

Manchester In The City officially starts today (Sunday 5th Oct 2008) – but last night saw Little Engine and the Lead Balloons play at the Friends Of Mine official ITC fringe event at the Manchester Attic.
Unfortunately the hotly tipped Thomas Tantrum had to pull out of the show (due to a ‘viral infection and an inflamed throat’ according to the band’s official site)
